Monet had loved flowers all his life. In 1883, Monet bought a house with a studio in Giverny, France, where he settled, built a
greenhouse and a pond in the garden, planted some flowers, and hired a gardener
to look after them. Irises in Monet's Garden, currently in the
Musée d'Orsay, Paris, France, was completed by Monet in the garden in Giverny.
